On June 6th -10th, Joanna Wińska and Katarzyna Gałka visited Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia (https://iliauni.edu.ge/en/) under the KA107 Erasmus + grant.
During the meeting with the Head of the Academic Writing Center (https://writingcentre.iliauni.edu.ge/en/), prof. Maia Rogava, they discussed cooperation within the Academic Skills area and sharing good practices in teaching EAP and ESP. During the meetings with the management and teaching staff, many ideas came up for the continuation and development of cooperation between Nicolaus Copernicus University and partners from Georgia. The discussed initiatives regard, among others, organizing a joint online conference, developing cooperation between students, exchanging teaching staff, developing new techniques for teaching specialist language and many others.
Another important point of the visit to Tbilisi was establishing contacts with a new potential partner of SPNJO in Georgia - Georgian National University SEU (https://www.seu.edu.ge/en), the largest private university in Georgia. The meeting was attended by: Vice-Rectors of SEU: George Gavtadze and Anna Phirtskhalashvili and the Head of International Relations Office, Ms. Nino Urushadze, and Director of the Tech & Entrepreneurship Lab, Ms. Teona Bebia. The talks resulted in establishing an action plan and identifying possible areas and scope of cooperation with SEU.
